Salary Advance Courses for Teachers | Jump Into PD

HBM 1702 (1 unit)

One of the easiest and most transformative changes a teacher can make that will highly affect the success of their students is mastering the art of positivity and a calm, but demanding demeanor. Lecturing and raising the volume of your voice rarely works, so let’s discuss an alternative.

In this sixth and final course in the series, participants explore chapter 12 of “Teach Like a Champion 3.0” by Doug Lemov. We dive into the last set of immediately implementable techniques coined by the author involving Building Student Motivation and Trust that are used by teachers all over the country. These techniques involve concepts like positive framing, a warm/strict demeanor, emotional constancy, and more. This book is a MUST read for new teachers!

*Note that this is part 6 of a 6 course series. Although it is not required that you complete these courses in order, it is highly recommended you start with part 1 and end with part 6.

These strategies are designed to empower educators to enhance their classroom management and engagement.

Through hands-on learning, participants will given time to grasp these essential principles and apply them in their own classrooms. Through additional research on articles written by the book’s Author, participants will also get the opportunity to improve on their implementation of ANY technique from the book they find valuable.

Why do you recommend this book so highly?

Because all the salary advancement courses by Jump Into PD are created by real teachers, we understand the teacher life. This book dramatically helped out Jump into PD Cofounder Jennica Harrison when she was a new teacher. She still uses the techniques she learned from this book to this day- as we expect that you will, as well. Aside from the book being so helpful, the coursework we created around the book’s content is straightforward, no fluff, and offers highly valuable teacher professional learning.
